    Two news stories that hit my desk at the same time today.

    Weather warnings as storms batter Britain

    Stormy weather is sweeping over parts of Britain with winds of up to 80mph forecast.

    Western areas of the UK are already being battered and the storms are expected to hit most regions throughout the day. There is also a strong chance of flooding in the Midlands and north of England. Full story here.

    Am I the only person who finds it ironic that this story was issued today as well?

    Water firms lift hosepipe use bans

    A hosepipe ban affecting more than 12 million people has been lifted.

    The two-year drought, the worst for 73 years, has been declared over by four water companies. Full story here.
